ICAI Releases Official September 2025 CA Exam Schedule; Details on Application, Fees and Eligibility

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially announced the date-wise timetable for the CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final examinations to be held in September 2025. In a circular dated 30 May 2025, ICAI declared the schedule for all three levels on its website. News reports note that the detailed timetable is available on the ICAI portal, prompting a surge in Google searches for “ICAI CA September 2025 exam schedule.”

According to ICAI’s official notification (Circular No.13-CA(EXAM)/SEPTEMBER/2025), the exam dates are as follows:

  • CA Final: Group I – September 3, 6 and 8, 2025; Group II – September 10, 12 and 14, 2025
  • CA Intermediate: Group I – September 4, 7 and 9, 2025; Group II – September 11, 13 and 15, 2025
  • CA Foundation: Four papers on September 16, 18, 20 and 22, 2025

ICAI specifically notes that no exam will be held on September 5, 2025 (Friday) due to the Milad-un-Nabi gazetted holiday. The schedule is “subject to sufficient number of candidates” in each centre, and ICAI emphasizes there will be no change to this timetable even if any exam date is declared a holiday by Central or State governments.

The ICAI circular also specifies examination timings and durations. All exams begin at 2:00 PM (IST), with most papers lasting three hours. Notable exceptions: Papers 3 and 4 of the Foundation exam are two hours each (2:00–4:00 PM), and Final Paper 6 is four hours (2:00–6:00 PM). A 15-minute advance reading time (1:45–2:00 PM) will be provided for all papers except the MCQ section of Foundation Papers 3 & 4. These details, along with the city-wise list of exam centres in India and abroad, are included in the official PDF notice on ICAI’s website.

How to Download the Schedule

Students can download the official exam schedule from the ICAI website. The announcement (No.13-CA(EXAM)/SEPTEMBER/2025) is posted under the Examination section of the site. The complete timetable is available in PDF form. For convenience, ICAI’s news updates and the PDF link have been shared by major media. Candidates are advised to refer only to the official circular for the detailed schedule and instructions.

Application Process and Key Dates

ICAI has opened the online registration window for the September 2025 exams on its Self Service Portal (SSP). All interested candidates must apply online at eservices.icai.org. Applicants should log in using their SRN (xxxxx@icai.org) and password; new users must register on SSP and update their profile (photo, signature, address) as needed. The SSP portal will host the exam application form for each course – Foundation, Intermediate, and Final – based on the candidate’s eligibility under ICAI regulations. The exam fee must be paid online at the time of form submission.

ICAI has specified the following submission deadlines:

  • Opening of exam form submission: July 5, 2025 (Saturday)
  • Last date (no late fee): July 18, 2025 (Friday)
  • Last date (with late fee ₹600 or US$10): July 21, 2025 (Monday)

In other words, candidates must apply by July 18 to avoid any extra charges. Late submissions will incur a late fee of ₹600 (for Indian/Bhutan/Kathmandu centres) or US$10 (for other foreign centres) but will be accepted up to the extended deadline. Notably, application receipt is strictly through online mode on SSP; ICAI does not accept physical forms.

After the main registration window closes, a correction window will be open. Candidates who need to change exam city or medium can do so during July 22–24, 2025. No other edits are allowed. Aspirants should double-check all details before final submission.

Media coverage emphasizes that students should complete the SSP registration in advance: creating a username, selecting the correct course (or converting old course to new), and updating documents on the portal prior to filling the exam form. The official announcement itself reminds candidates to use the ‘forgot password’ facility if needed and to ensure their SSP profile is updated before the deadlines.

Fee Structure

ICAI’s announcement includes the exam fee schedule for each course and centre type. Key fee details (per student per attempt) are summarized below:

  • CA Intermediate:

Payment can be made online via credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro), Rupay cards, net banking, or BHIM UPI. Candidates should ensure they select the correct exam and centre when paying fees, as per instructions on SSP and the ICAI circular.

Eligibility and Other Requirements

As always, candidates must satisfy ICAI’s eligibility criteria for the respective course:
